Otunba Dr. Dapo Williams: Continue to Rest in Peace

This day, we remember our grand patron, Otunba Dr. Dapo Williams, who passed on to glory exactly a year ago. He was more than a grand patron for Mobility Help For Disabled; he was  our strongest backbone.

Otunba Dr. Oladapo Williams PhD hailed from Lagos State, Nigeria. He was born on 11 March 1958. A qualified Architect, Chartered Surveyor, Building Construction expert, and a Commercially-focused Real Estate Facilities Management strategist with over 35 years  experience. Chief Williams was a man of many parts with vast experience in various sectors, that include Health Services, Automotive, Construction, Education, Employment, Legal Advice, and Guidance Services. Otunba Dapo and family are also stakeholders in the Oil & Gas Sector, as Petroleum Products Downstream Retailers.

One of the reasons, Dr Dapo Williams is being eulogised all over the world is not far-fetched. His pedigree in the area of education and professional experience included his attendance at numerous first-class and celebrated academic institutions all over the world including the Harvard Business School USA, Oxford University UK, University of Cambridge UK, and before then, the renowned Yaba College of Technology in its heydays for his National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Dr. Dapo was a prominent member of many international bodies, both professional and social. They include Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), Member, Association of Engineering Doctorates AEngD, Member, Institute of Directors (UK) (MIoD), and Member, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Dr Williams was recipient of numerous awards, honours, and recognitions. He was officially recognized by Her Majesty, The Queen of England for Services to Education (1999), Recipient ‘BEFTA Award for Philanthropy’ in community projects, Africans in Diaspora UK (2019), Awarded ‘Best Research Student’ at the International Postgraduate Research Conference, UK (2015), and Special Recognition Award for support and contribution towards the Charities in Africa (Focus on Disability, 2018).

Otunba Dapo is survived by Yeye Tina Williams; The Yeye Fiwagboye of Arigidi Akoko, and blessed with Children. Chief Dapo Williams left this world for the life beyond on Monday 3 August 2020, aged 60. And he will forever be remembered and engraved in our heart as our foremost grand patron.
